Chris Pratt on 'Station List', Joins Philanthropist Schwarzenegger and Newborn Hell Week

Whether it's preventing the disappearance of dinosaurs in the "Jurassic World" franchise or burning the Quad Blaster in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Chris Pratt has honed the art of comic wisdom in the midst of a major blockbuster.

Ends with "list of stations". Pratt's usual frivolity is the first recorded victim of the eight-episode Amazon series (airing Friday).

Pratt, 43, is fully armed as Navy SEAL James Reece in the first 2020 adaptation of Jack Carr's novel from the bestselling author (and former SEAL platoon leader).

"Fans will have a set of expectations about what they are going to get from something I love, through pranks and deception. But none of that," Pratt said in a video interview. (Both are executive producers on the project). "I couldn't count on the comedy machine he came up with for most of the action. It was a challenge."

It was a challenge that began with the lovable Andy Dwyer and the idiot Pratt on the 2009-15 NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. Carr was a fan. Then, after seeing Pratt transform into a SEAL Team Six operator in one of his first film roles, the 2012 Academy Award-winning drama Zero Dark Thirty, the budding author used Pratt as inspiration for Reese, the main character.

"He (Pratt) made that transformation, and yet he was such a nice guy by nature, I wanted to have a beer with him," Carr said. “It is very important to ask people to sit on the pages of your book or see them on the screen. Life is so much better if you spend time with someone who is positive and encouraging.”

Five subsequent books focused on Rhys star Alan Pratt helped bring the character to the screen after his friend and brother Jared Shaw introduced him to the terminal roster.

Pratt, who has known Shaw since pursuing him to prepare for "Zero Dark Thirty," hires his best friend to handle intense training and play Ernest "Boozer" Vickers, the only other survivor of a secret mission. Quest for deadly revenge, cross one after another.

Training continued even during Pratt's role in Jurassic World: Dominion, and Shaw traveled with Pratt to Australia to film Thor: Love and Thunder, where he works on "tactics and exercises and guides me through the arms trade," Pratt says. (Both films will be released this summer.)

The process of "cleaning" the room you entered from potential enemies was very dangerous. But there were times when Pratt showed off a more playful workout style after returning to Los Angeles with his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger and their three children: Jack, 9 (his son with Anna Faris), Lily, 1, and newborns Eloise.

“To this day, when I walk through a gate, I say if I had a paddle in my hand, I would go through it and surf,” Pratt says. "I go to the bathroom and empty it. But it's the constant repetition that makes me feel like I know what I'm doing on screen."

In the series, Reese connects with ex-boyfriend Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) and a sympathetic investigative reporter (Constance Wu) who helps uncover the growing list of people behind the failed mission.

Pratt also took another family member for a ride at the "Terminal," where he told his brother-in-law Patrick Schwarzenegger, 28, to "really catch him at the gym" before playing Donnie Mitchell, the family's youngest. A young man from a SEAL unit was hit by Reese.

It is real everywhere. Carr insists that the tactical sights in "Terminal" are so effective that "a veteran operator sitting through this will know we timed them correctly". But he was deeply moved to see Pratt deal so realistically with the complex tidal wave returning to his wife (Riley Keough) and young daughter after its horrific spread.

At the start of the platoon scene, Pratt and Schwarzenegger, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, were the only actors with no military experience. But they fit into the group.

Pratt said, "Patrick has the look really right, it's sturdy. It fits him perfectly and he's in love with him." I thought they robbed me, brother-in-law. He helped me throughout the series."

"The way Chris described his re-integration with the family back home was perfect," says Carr. "I'm excited now just to think of it because that's how it works."

If "Terminal List" is a hit with Amazon Prime viewers, more releases may follow: Carr is wrapping up her sixth Reece novel, leaving plenty of room for more stories. While Amazon didn't sign up for more, Pratt received some new training from May-born Eloise, which strengthened the family bond and brought him back to "sleep deprivation."

"The first week after baby comes home is a week of hell," Pratt says. “One thing I learned from these guys is that you are tougher and can pay more than you think, kids will try to push you to the breaking point as a parent, you know you can take a lot. Also, you'll never hear that bell
