Explaining the end of the third season of The Umbrella Academy (Spoilers)

The third season of The Umbrella Academy has finally arrived after years of waiting!

In season three, the series starts where we left off, with canopies in front of the sparrows. After avoiding the apocalypse a second time, Hargreaves discovers that the world they knew has changed drastically.

Specifically, Reginald Hargrave was so disappointed in Hargrave when he met them in the past that he adopted a completely different set of super-powered children born on October 1, 1989, hence the Sparrows.

Wings Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy

With so many ups and downs this season, especially time travel, there can be a lot of different themes to follow regarding the many storylines in the series. Also, with the addition of the Sparrows to this season, there are more characters to follow, so it's understandable that you need to clarify how it all ends.

The Umbrella Academy Season Three: What About Birds?

Despite all the preparations for Sparrow Academy, it doesn't really last long. Most of the sparrows died mid-season, and eventually Sloan and Ben survived.

In fact, we only know for sure that Ben is alive, and that the fate of Sloan himself hangs in the end. Marcus dies first after being dragged into the Kugelblitz, followed by Harlan killing Jayme and Alphonso. Later, Kugelbltiz also killed Faye and Christopher.

Umbrella Academy Season Three: What's Reginald's Plan?

It was discovered that even the new Reginald, who looked more handsome than the old, was still manipulative and cruel, willing to sacrifice his children to get what he wanted. In the final two episodes of the season, Reginald kills Luther and then pushes Klaus out of the tunnel between the Obsidian Hotel and Oblivion.

Once in Limbo, she used her children as the "Seven Bells" to activate a multidimensional machine that feeds on its particles. We don't have all the details on exactly what Reginald wants, but we do know that it's Abigail Hargreaves.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Will Klaus and Luther survive?

Since Reginald had killed Luther and prevented Klaus from escaping with the rest of his family, it seemed like they were done. Potter ended up in a vacuum with Klaus. Fortunately, when Reginald resumes the show (or whatever he does), Luther and Klaus can escape and return to reality with the rest of their siblings. So yes, at the end of the season, they are both alive (albeit impotently).

Umbrella Academy Season Three: Who is Abigail Hargreaves?

We haven't found out who Abigail Hargreaves is this season, but she clearly matters. In a flashback to Luther's Time on the Moon, we see Abigail contained in a secret base. Then, at the end of the season, we see Reginald and Abigail standing on a skyscraper, holding hands for a view of the city (very reminiscent of the end of Fight Club).

I think Abigail is someone that Reginald likes, I think he's a romantic. But could it be his biological daughter or something? Strange girlfriend? I think we'll find out next season!

The Umbrella Academy Season Three: What Happens at the End?

At the end of the season, Reginald nearly killed Layla, Diego, Klaus, Victor, Ben, Sloan, and Five by using his devices and drying up their particles. When Alison sees what Reginald is doing to her brothers, she finally comes to her senses and attacks him, killing him with a careless guard's pistol.

However, everything Reginald was doing seems to be working, as a diagram appears on the front of the device and Allison presses it. After that, the whole universe is renewed. Klaus, Lila, Diego, Ben, Victor, and Luther suddenly arrive at a courtyard where the hotel once stood. Everyone is healed and safe, which means Five has his arm back and Diego's fingers are back. Luther and Klaus are alive and well.

The only big difference is that... well, everyone's powers are gone. Whatever Reginald reset did, it also removed everyone's abilities. Sloan is an M.I.A. Luther immediately panics when he realizes his wife is not among the others and goes looking for her.

Everyone there splits up, while Lila and Diego leave together, Ben splits up alone, Klaus Luther is haunted (since he recently passed away and is now frail), and Victor and Five also go out on their own.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Does Allison follow a different timeline than everyone else?
The only thing to note is that Alison does not return to the yard. We don't know exactly where he went, but he immediately went to look for Claire. Claire is back and not only that, but Raymond is alive too! Apparently Reginald set up a meeting with Allison, which is interesting because Reginald seemed willing to betray Allison into oblivion (he didn't know Klaus would, and if Klaus didn't, I think Allison would. She should). becomes the seventh bell).

But it is also worth noting that Alison has not recovered from her injuries. She still holds her arms and looks the same as when we last saw her, unlike her siblings like Diego and Five who straightened up and got their limbs back without any cuts or anything.

Does this mean that Alison now has a different schedule than the rest of her family? Could this also mean that unlike her siblings, Alison still has her powers? It's also strange that Raymond is alive now, but Claire is still Claire. True, if Allison and Raymond had a baby together, she wouldn't be "Claire" as we know her. Unless it was all part of what Reginald did. All this requires a lot of processing.

Umbrella Academy Season Three: What Happens to Sloan?

We don't know what happened to Sloan because she doesn't kill the rest of the family when they are brought into the yard. This could mean that with the timeline reset, Sloan would be where she would have gone had Reginald not accepted her, but surely the same would have happened for this new version of Ben.

Oddly enough, Ben ends up with the rest of the family, but not with Sloan. Yes, there was an "other" old Ben who died, but Ben in the yard is the same Ben Sparrow we've seen all season. I wonder if Sloan is stuck somewhere between dimensions or if she's living a normal life and won't remember Luther at all.

And speaking of resetting the timeline, we can probably assume that all the other dead characters are alive again, such as Harlan, Stan, Alphonso, Fei, Christopher, Marcus, and Jayme. Is it possible to see any of them again?

Is there a post-credits scene at the end of Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy?

There is a brief scene in the middle of the credits at the end of Season 3 of The Umbrella Academy. Ben appears at a station that appears to be the same station in Seoul that opened the season. Will Ben look for his mother? With the calendar reset, we can assume that all mothers are alive.

What do you think of the third season of The Umbrella Academy? You can watch the new season now on Netflix.
