Spurs could still replace Dejounte Murray for the Hawks, but with Danilo Gallinari, not John Collins as a comparable salary.
Zack Klein of WSB-TV Atlanta:
In talking with multiple sources around the NBA, many believe Hawks on verge of trading for San Antonio's All-Star guard Dejounte Murray - However, it's looking like John Collins is not part of deal. Would be Gallo & multiple 1st round picks. Spurs prepping for future & '23 draft

Have now heard the same as Zach. For certain: There's been plenty of conversation, sources said, on increasing the partial guarantee in Danilo Gallinari's contract, perhaps before the end of the NBA league year. https://t.co/H3iuSlpJ9H

By using Gallinari instead of Collins in the trade, San Antonio will limit its long-term spending. Collins has four years and $102 million left on his contract.
Gallinari's contract expired with a guaranteed salary of just $5 million from $21.45 million until tomorrow, when the final year of his contract is fully guaranteed. To trade it directly with Murray, Atlanta would need a collateral of at least $11,571,120. It is possible that Tottenham will abandon the Gallinari team.
The exhibit is clearly not quite as good as Collins. But Spurs would have dived deeper into the rebuilding if Murray had been traded. The Snaps project will be the main source of income with Gallinari as the channel. The Hawks have all of their first-round future picks, as well as the Hornets opener (16 top picks in 2023, lottery picks in 2024 and 2025 and then two picks in the second round).
