After a third delay due to weather, the Iowa football team's game with Nevada is scheduled to resume at 12:45 a.m. Sunday. The match started at 6:40 PM. Saturday.
Maybe things will be different this time.
The final, just as football seemed to return to Kennick Stadium tonight, Iowa and Nevada entered their third weather delay.
It came after Nevadas played a game and lined up trying to score a long field goal when the second bad weather delay, which lasted from 10:07 p.m., resumed. Just before midnight. The first weather delay lasted at 8:36 p.m. Until 21:56
Lightning was again seen eight miles from the field, the magic distance to ensure the game was stopped. It was previously closed at 8:36 PM. CT, after which an 80 min delay followed. The Hawkeyes are currently leading 17-0 with 5:24 remaining in the third quarter.

Saturday was a much-needed offensive boost for the hockey team, who scored just 14 points in their first two games. Freshman Caleb Johnson got the score that started with a 40-yard sprint late in the first quarter. Spencer Petras found Arland Bruce IV minutes from 21 yards to give Iowa a 14-0 lead. This was Petras TD's first assist of the season.
Newcomer Drew Stevens added a field goal in the second quarter to extend Iowa's lead to three points. It rained throughout the competition, but the delay wasn't necessary until lightning crept into Kennek Stadium.

At this point, who knows.
The delay looked like this.
First delay due to bad weather: 8:36 PM to 9:56 PM.
The second delay due to bad weather: 22:07 - 23:55
The third delay due to bad weather: 23:57 - ?????
Once you notice lightning within eight miles, at least 30 minutes must pass without another lightning strike to resume play. An additional 30 minutes are added each time.

According to Weather.com, there is a "marginal risk of severe weather in Iowa City tonight." There is a greater than 80% chance of rain starting at 9 p.m. Until 10pm, followed by a 99% chance at 11pm. M.
It sure turned out to be true.
For now, Weather.com says the storms are expected to wind down around 1:05 a.m. M. and "Some storms may be severe."
