Multiple fights broke out at Knott's Berry Farm on Saturday night, forcing the park to close three hours early and causing patrons to flee.
The wounded were taken to hospital, and paramedics evaluated a third person but refused treatment, Capt. Sean Doran of the Orange County Fire Department said.
Part of the fight was filmed and posted on social media while the teens were arguing on a street outside the park. When violence erupted, panicked visitors ran for cover.
Buena Park Police said several 911 calls reported a possible shooting, but officers at the scene decided not to shoot.
"The safety of Knott's Berry Farm customers and partners is always our top priority," the park said in a statement Saturday evening. “The decision to close the park was made three hours ago due to unruly behavior and fights in which many teens were involved. This behavior was not in keeping with our park values, and it was not the experience we want any visitors to the park to have. Knott’s Berry Farm.
The park reopened Sunday morning.
As the fighting intensified, rumors of shootings drove panicked sponsors into hiding, according to social media posts.
"There was a quarrel where everyone ran out," one park visitor wrote on Facebook. Suddenly everyone screamed and then ran away. We were only allowed to go out through the staff area.
One of the videos on the mobile phone showed a young man hitting another teenager while he was lying on the ground with his arms raised to protect his head. Another video clip on the mobile phone showed a security guard lying on the ground.
One woman told KABC-TV that she saw people "punching security" and another person "bleeding on the floor".
