I'll die for you

The latest series of Pokémon games, "Pokémon Scarlet & Violet," will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

A trailer for the game was released this morning, revealing new details about the ninth generation of the classic franchise. Most importantly, this guy. His name is Lechonk.

Well, Lechonk might not be the biggest reveal. "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Pokémon Violet" will be the franchise's first open-world RPG, based on "Pokémon Legends: Arceus". "Arceus" is not a true open world game: you travel to base camps, then run across a large but limited area and meet Pokémon all over the world. So we'll take these "open world" claims at face value.

You have become the beginning, the beginning, the beginning, the beginning, the beginning, the beginning. Until now).

Depending on the game the two players choose, they will face a different Pokemon master; Sada in "Pokémon Scarlet" and Turo in "Pokémon Violet". The internet really loves them.

We already knew the first three Pokémon of the ninth generation: Sprigatito, a grassy cat; Fuyuko the fierce crocodile. Coxley, Donald Duck. But we have some important new information about these friends in their Pokédex entries, and it's basically this information: "Quaxly is tidy and doesn't like messing with his head."

Apart from Lechonk, we met two other new companions. Smoliv, a fun little olive pokemon. According to Pokédex's description, Smoliv likes to sunbathe. Then there's Pawmi, an electric mouse that generates electricity by rubbing its cheeks. Sounds a bit familiar, if you know what I mean.

In "Pokémon Sword & Shield", some fan-favorite Pokémon were initially excluded from the game, which led to controversy (Justice for Bulbasaur). So far in the trailers we've detected species like (deep breathing) Magnemite, Lucario, Hoppip, Drifloon, Combee, Meowth, Pikachu, Larvitar, Bagon, Cyrogonal, Fletchling, Flaaffy, Chewtle, Flabébé, Venonat, Coalossal, Mareanie, Laurents and Ginger.

Finally, the new trailer introduces us to the main and exclusive legendary Pokémon game of this generation: Koraidon and Miraidon. But honestly, there is nothing compared to Lechonk.
