The first earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck Thursday morning near Bay Point, according to the US Geological Survey.
The USGS said the quake, with an epicenter about 3.6 miles northwest of Bay Point and about 6.2 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, occurred at 5:07 a.m.
The earthquake was felt by many in the Bay Area, from as far north as Fairfield, as far west as Half Moon Bay and as far south as San Jose.
The quake originated on the Concord Green Valley Fault and was about 12 miles deep, according to USGS data.
