  • New York / New Jersey

There are eleven locations in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada. Specific match venues, including the opening and final venues, will be announced at a later date.

This will be the first time that 48 teams will participate, instead of the current 32-team format. This will be the first time that the tournament will be held in three host countries.

Cities that were not selected include Cincinnati. Denver. Edmonton, Canada; Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando Florida; and Baltimore.

The main opening match is likely to take place either in Los Angeles or Mexico City, two cities that have hosted World Cup finals in the past.

The United States, Canada and Mexico were selected as the winners in 2018 with their victory over Morocco. The United States hosted the 1994 World Cup; Mexico hosted the tournament in 1970 and 1986.

The three countries' joint offer defined the same unified offer under the slogan "Unity. Certainty. Opportunity." His campaign highlighted the great financial opportunity offered by hosting the Games in North America, as well as the ease and certainly the use of large-capacity stadiums that are already in operation.

Most competitive stadiums in the United States regularly host NFL teams, and some also host Major League Soccer teams. Canadian stadiums will host the Canadian Football League and the MLS League, while the proposed stadiums in Mexico will host Liga MX teams.

The show included luxurious suites in stadiums and clubs, and promised that all were "ideally designed to accommodate FIFA leaders and guests, international VIPs and premium ticket buyers".

Hosting the World Cup in three very large countries will pose significant travel challenges for the teams and fans who follow them, especially when compared to tournaments hosted in a country with strong railways that allow fans to travel from city to city.

This unified vision was taken into account by designing the regional groups for teams and groups.

In the context of the knockout phase of the tournament, there will be a flow from west to east, and the schedule has suggested locating the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The show also proposed hosting the semifinals in Atlanta and Dallas.

But long before football fans from around the world arrived in North America, the 2022 World Cup was taking place in the host country, Qatar. The tournament begins on November 21 and ends on December 18.
