DALLAS (AFP) - Stephen Curry scored 31 points and Andrew Wiggins added 27 as Luka Doncic put over a dunk to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 109-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday to advance 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals.

Klay Thompson scored 19 with a pair of big three-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Warriors snatched the win to return to the NBA Finals, three years after ending a five-year streak that resulted in three championships.

Golden State, which swept Portland in the 2019 World Cup final before Toronto won the title, entered the fourth round in Dallas on Tuesday. Neither team went 3-0 to win the NBA Playoff Series.

Doncic scored 40 goals and won the quarter-final from 32 feet, leaving the fans behind the Mavericks again at home, 2-0, as they did against Phoenix before winning the semi-finals over the West in seven games.

But that surprise charge was just a picture of a tough three-point night for the Mavericks, who missed out on their first seven points and finished 13 of 45.

Long-distance specialists Reggie Bullock and Maxi Kleiber from Dallas missed 12 out of 12 together for zero out of 15 overall. Both went goalless, allowing Spencer Dinwiddy to offset 26 points off the bench. Galen Bronson scored 20 goals.

Wiggins' dip in Doncic was initially considered to have made an offensive foul in the middle of the fourth quarter. The Warriors challenged and the verdict was that Wiggins' elbow to Doncic was an accidental contact, giving Golden State a 93-83 lead.

About a minute later, Wiggins, who had 11 rebounds, quickly moved down the right baseline to follow Curry's foul as the Warriors expanded their NBA record to 26 games in a row.

The 3-pointer by Dinwiddie gave Dallas a five-point lead with 1:15 left, but Jordan Paul responded with a point down the left wing in the last minute.

What just happened?

The series' most tense moment came late in the first half after Curry's 3-0 corner kick gave the Warriors a one-point lead and helped them take a .48-47 lead in the first half. This left Carrie baffled.

Curry ran to the field with his tongue hanging after Dallas called a timeout. When he returned to his seat, Cary Doncic walked with teammate Juan Toscano Anderson in front of him.

Doncic seemed to disagree with Toscano Anderson and took the Golden State bench before he took into account officials, coaches and players from both teams. Meanwhile, Draymond Green and injured Dallas guard Tim Hardaway Jr. exchanged bad feelings at 45 feet.

After the timeout expires, Curry is seen saying, "What happened?" And he approached Doncic to talk about him. The exchange ended with Green as peacemaker with Doncic.
